Seagate Christian Schools enrolls students from K-5  to 12th grade. It has been said time and again that we have established a reputation throughout the years as providing an authentic Christian education. 


Founded in 1976, the Seagate Christian Schools exists to give the young people of our church and community Bible-based education while training them to develop the mind of Christ. SCS is in its 49th year of operation and stands in our community as a wonderful place to educate the entire child, academically, spiritually, socially and physically.

Bible-Based Education

Believing that God is the source of all truth, Seagate Christian Schools acknowledges God and His Word (The Bible) to be the basis of all instruction. All subjects are taught from a Christian worldview. Godly character is incorporated in the classroom, on the playing field, and at social activities.

For over 45 years, Seagate Christian Schools has offered quality education for all of its students. The A Beka Book video school curriculum is taught in the classroom. This curricula is used all over the world and has proven to meet the needs of each student at every stage of their development.

Classroom Character Training

Character is a quality that is not inherited, it is a quality that must be taught. The goal of our school is to help give each and every student the character training they need for life inside the classroom, but more importantly, life outside the classroom. Academics

Seagate Christian School uses proven and trusted Bible-based curriculum. As an educational institution of 44 years, we have a proven tract record of academic excellence. Our school uses the A Beka Video Curriculum for daily lessons and assignments. Students taught with the A Beka curriculum have been accepted into prestigious colleges and gone on to serve the Lord in demanding careers. 

With this curriculum, our kindergarten students learn through a strong phonic-based education which provides a great foundation of learning in this first year of schooling. All of our students are taught to read in kindergarten and year after year they test into the first and second grades when ranked nationally in standardized testing. 

 

Our 1st through 12th grade students experience a curriculum with a teacher-led, character-building philosophy which comes from a Biblical foundation. They experience structure and organization which helps them know what to expect and what's expected of them.

Our Curriculum's Objective

Intellectual Growth

Teaching from a practical, traditional approach will develop each student intellectually. Each student will be able to demonstrate appropriate grade-level knowledge, achieve or exceed grade-level scores on national standardized testing, and pursue a college program of study.

Moral Growth

Through traditional teaching designed to help instill good character and by meeting program expectations, students will be able to display personal integrity in their everyday lives and discern right and wrong.

Spiritual Growth

Because of daily Bible instruction and use of a Christian curriculum, students will be able to apply Biblical truths from God's Word to their own lives, demonstrate knowledge or the doctrines of the Bible, and choose prayer and memorizing Scripture to grow in their faith.

Our Curriculum's Approach

Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and each student finds Scripture and Biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrates concepts given in each lesson. In history, students see God's hand. In science, students see God's design. In grammar, students see God's order.


Through this curriculum, our students are excelling in academics as well as Bible knowledge. We pray each student will apply the knowledge and wisdom they are receiving to their daily lives. We are thankful for the privilege and responsibility of partnering with parents to educate children to become all that God wants them to be.

Bible

The foundation of all learning

The Abeka Bible program presents the Bible in the narrative style in which it is written. Students ate led through the stories and truths of the Old and New Testaments, including Bible doctrine and application at an age-appropriate level.

Reading

The means by which each person can learn for themselves

Because children often emulate what they read, they need reading skills and character-building reading materials from an early age. Abeka employs phonics as the most logical, orderly way to introduce reading to children. Abeka readers are beautifully illustrated and imaginatively written.

History

A view of time, government, geography, and economics based on eternal truth

Abeka's history courses present an inspiring portrayal of peoples, lands, religions, ideals, heroes, triumphs, and setbacks in light of the Biblical principles that govern the natural course of history. Students benefit from this traditional, conservative approach to the study of what man has done with the time God has given him. Along with the study of history, students see the purpose of government as ordained by God for the maintenance of law and order, not as a cure-all for humanity's problems. The benefits of free-enterprise economics are presented in contrast with the dangers of Communism, socialism, and liberalism. Geography studies are woven in to provide a well-rounded perspective of locations in conjunction with events.

Mathematics

The study of logic and order to apply to science and daily life

Abeka teaches that the laws of mathematics are a creation of God and thus absolute. Man's task is to search out and make use of the laws of the universe, both scientific and mathematical. This is in significant contrast to the modern math theories that are based on mathematics as a creation of man and thus arbitrary and relative.


Students enjoy Abeka's variety in covering multiple branches of mathematics - arithmetic, geometry, algebra - each year on an age-appropriate level. At the same time, they benefit from the spiral approach of revisiting and building upon the learning throughout each year and from one year to the next.


This learning is both relevant for today and foundational for the future, with each course purposefully preparing students for the next.

Science & Health

the investigation of variety, order, and reasonableness revealed in creation

The Abeka science and health program presents the universe as the direct, orderly, law-abiding creation of God and refutes the man-made idea of evolution. Students are presented with plants, animals, rocks, elements, forces, the human body, and much more according to an understanding of the design and laws of nature.


Learning is delivered through age-appropriate content in a variety of scientific fields including life science, chemistry, and physics. This content is supported by full-color illustrations to enhance learning, and hands-on demonstrations to personalize learning.

English

the study of language and communication in a structured, reasonable, and well-articulated manner

Because thought and language form the foundation of learning and communication, teaching grammar, spelling, vocabulary, composition, and literature is vitally important. Abeka presents language in a structure in which students develop orderliness, reasoning, and logic.


Students benefit from Abeka's commitment to an emphasis on reliable grammatical and literary structure that prepares them for analysis and practice. The desirable result is mastery with the development of critical thinking. Because of this emphasis, students see the importance of correct spelling and the continual expansion of one's vocabulary.

Tuition

Seagate Christian Schools is owned and operated by the Seagate Baptist Church. We rely solely on tuition and donations from our friends and community. Even though the school does not receive government funding at this time, our pastor seeks to keep our tuition reasonable and affordable for every parent who desires to provide Christian education for their child. The parents of children in our school thoroughly believe in our program and most of them sacrifice to give their children this quality education.
